A 12-month audit confirms the effectiveness of the controls protecting contractors, distributors, and manufacturing partners.

What happened?
Intelligent Mobile Support, Inc. (IMS), the company behind Sales Builder Pro (SBP), completed an independent SOC 2 Type II examination on June 30, 2026. Pease Bell CPAs conducted the examination. It covered the controls supporting security, availability, and confidentiality over a 12-month period.
A Type II examination looks at more than whether controls exist on paper. It tests whether they operated effectively, day after day, across the full audit period.
What is a SOC 2 Type II examination, in plain terms?
Think of it as a year-long inspection of how a software company runs. The auditor looks at things like:
- Who can access customer data, and how that access is granted and removed.
- How software changes are tested and released.
- How systems are monitored.
- How outside vendors are vetted.
- What happens when something goes wrong, and whether the response plan is followed.
A Type I report checks whether those controls are designed properly at one point in time. A Type II report checks whether they operated as designed over months. Type II is the harder one to earn.
What does this mean for my business?
Your proposals, Comfort Survey and Site Survey results, job-site photos, customer information, and deal data live in SBP. When you hand a homeowner a tablet at the kitchen table, you are trusting that the information behind that proposal is protected.
This examination gives you independent evidence, not just our word, that:
- Access to your data is controlled and reviewed.
- Software releases follow a disciplined process.
- Systems are monitored, and incidents have a response plan that gets followed.
- These practices held up for a full 12 months.
It also matters if you work with a distributor or OEM program, sell to property managers or builders with vendor requirements, or belong to a multi-location company that vets its software. When someone asks whether your sales software has been independently examined, the answer is yes.
Who did the audit?
Pease Bell CPAs, an accounting and advisory firm that provides audit, tax, consulting, and risk advisory services, including SOC examinations. IMS did not grade itself. An independent firm reviewed the controls and how they operated over time.
Why does a sales tool need this level of discipline?
Behind every reliable software platform is much more than code. It takes disciplined engineering practices, controlled software releases, carefully managed user access, vendor oversight, continuous system monitoring, incident response planning, and governance processes that are consistently followed, not simply documented.
"Our customers rely on Sales Builder Pro to support one of the most important moments in their business, earning a homeowner's trust and winning the sale," said John Steidley, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Intelligent Mobile Support, Inc. "Over the past several years, we've intentionally invested not only in new capabilities, but also in the operational discipline that great software companies require. This independent examination validates the work we've done to strengthen our engineering practices, governance, security, and day-to-day operations. Most importantly, it gives our customers additional confidence that they're partnering with a company built for the long term."
As residential HVAC contractors, distributors, and OEMs rely more on cloud-based software to manage customer information, proposals, financing, and daily operations, choosing a technology partner takes more than a feature list. You need to know the company behind the app runs a disciplined operation and takes care of your data. This examination is independent proof of that.
What does Sales Builder Pro do?
Sales Builder Pro, from Intelligent Mobile Support, Inc., headquartered in Solon, Ohio, is the tablet-based sales platform that helps residential HVAC contractors win at the kitchen table. Released in 2015, SBP has grown from a proposal application into a full sales platform used by contractors, distributors, and OEMs across North America.
Comfort consultants use SBP to build good/better/best proposals in under five minutes, design ductless systems with Ductless Design Tools, present cash, finance, and lease options side by side with any financing provider, and close deals remotely with the eSign Toolkit. SBP integrates with ServiceTitan and ServMan Pro and works alongside other field service management software. All proposals, surveys, photos, and deal data are stored securely in the cloud and on the rep's tablet.
